The Marriage and Relationship Support (MARS) and Family Support Grant (FSG) programmes have now been combined to form the new Strengthening Families Grant (SFG) programme. A single family - focused grant programme will help Government to drive forward its vision to deliver the five Every Child Matters Green Paper outcomes and encourage an environment for mainstreaming Family Support Services.
The Strengthening Families VCS team administers the new grant programme. It joined the Sure Start, Extended Schools and Childcare Group in May 2004.
The Strengthening Families Grant is limited to delivery of work in England. Any organisations wishing to provide services in or for Wales should approach the National Assembly of Wales.
