LSC contact details
Local Learning and Skills Councils (LLSCs) have already played a key role in supporting Local Authorities in funding and establishing Step in to Learning for early years and family learning teams as part of its commitment to raising achievement and workforce development.
Workforce development and Early Years managers should be aware of the Step programme. If not, you may wish to direct them to this Step in to Learning website or to contact the DfES.
You can find contact details for your local Learning and Skills Council on the LSC website.
Local Authority contact details
43 local authorities in England are running Step in to Learning programmes.
DfES hold a list of these and will be able to give you details of the key
person to contact if you are in one of these areas.
Key contacts for Step in to Learning vary from one local authority to the next. However, good starting points would be:
- Adult (and Community) Learning
- Family Learning Team
- Skills for Life Team
- Early Years partnerships
- Local Sure Start managers/early years providers
If they are not aware of the programme you will need to signpost them to the website and the DfES to access support for setting up the programme. They will then begin the process of setting up the training and you will be able to access it.
If you have any difficulties, please contact stepintolearning@dfes.gsi.gov. uk.
