How do you access the training?
For practitioners wishing to access the training the steps to take are as follows:
1. Find out if any colleagues have attended the training
Speak to your local colleagues to find out if any them have already accessed the programme, if not, investigate if they too are interested in accessing the training.
2. Make contact
The DfES holds a list of local authorities who have run the programme. They will be able to give you details of the key person to contact if you are in one of these areas.
If your local authority has not yet begun to run Step in to Learning you need to speak to one of the following:
Local Authority
- Early Years Team
- Family Learning Team/Manager
Click here to go to the LEA Gateway with local authority contact details.
Further Education College
- Early Years and Childcare Team
- Skills for Life Team
Local Learning and Skills Council
If they are not aware of the programme you will need to signpost them to the
website and the DfES to access support for setting up the programme. They will
then begin the process of setting up the training and you will be able to
access it.
