Nationally accredited programmes
It is important to encourage your Champions to complete the accreditation that is already available to them through the Step in to Learning Programme:
- Unit 1 of the City & Guilds Level 2 Adult Learner Support Certificate (9295)
- Unit 19 of the Level 3 CACHE Certificate in professional development for working with children and young people
Ideally, Champions should have Level 2 literacy and numeracy. They can brush up on these skills if they need to by visiting the Move on website.

Other CPD for Champions
A range of CPD modules have been piloted with Champions in 2005/06 as a result of consultation with them on their perceived needs. These are:
- Introduction to Counselling & Coaching
- Taking Ownership of Personal Development
- Building Confidence
- Teaching & Learning Styles
- Emotional Intelligence & Emotional Literacy Part 1
- Emotional Intelligence & Emotional Literacy Part 2
- Empowerment
