Contextualising the Step in to Learning training

Although delegates attending the Step in to Learning training and development programme are likely to be childcare practitioners who are currently providing childcare services, it is important to appreciate the differences in the way they organise the services that they provide. Delegates are likely to represent a number of different types of childcare service that are all subtly different and will have varying levels of influence and responsibility.

Guidance includes suggestions for working with practitioners from working with practitioners from a range of childcare and playwork settings including:

  • childminding
  • sessional pre-school
  • full daycare
  • out of school provision
  • open access playschemes
  • crèches
  • the Extended School model.
