Following consulation with the RNIB's web accessibility team, we have decided not to fix the text size on this website. This enables users to control their text size (as well as font type) from their browser.

To adjust the font size in Internet Explorer (a typical windows XP browser)

  • click on View in the menu bar
  • click on Text size
  • you will be give a number of font (text) size options

To change the text size in Safari (a typical Mac OS X browser)

  • open the View menu
  • select Make text bigger

In addition to text size - the font type (i.e. Ariel, Verdana etc) is also selectable via the browser.

To display web page text in a different font in Internet Explorer

  • go to the Tools menu and click on Internet Options
  • on the General tab, click Fonts
  • in the Web page font and Plain text font lists, click on the fonts that you want
