Kelly sets out next steps for continued success of Sure Start

Education Secretary Ruth Kelly today praised the success of Sure Start and outlined the next steps to maximise its impact across the country.

Ruth Kelly launched new practice guidance for Sure Start Children’s Centres to increase further its impact in the nation’s most disadvantaged areas.

Alongside the best practice guidance, the Department today published early reports from the National Evaluation of Sure Start (NESS) – an independent study looking at the impact of Sure Start over a long-term period – which show how the programme is benefiting families across the country.
